Pointers when looking for a school:
Schools are rated with a report conducted by the Education Review Office. This report (ERO Report) gives in depth details on how a school is performing against a national standard. Although we can't list every ERO for every school, a good guide is the schools decile rating. A decile rating shows the socio-economic status ('wealth') of the school, 1 being the lowest (poor area) and 10 being the highest (wealthy area). Although this doesnt indicate the actual quality of a school, use it as a guide to shortlist schools in the area of your choice, then look up the full ERO report on the ERO website at http://www.ero.govt.nz
