Default Job not on LTSSL or ISSL

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently on a WTR permit (I'm the Principal Applicant) and my partner found a job which is listed on the ANZSCO Skill Level 3 but is not listed on the LTSSL or ISSL.

What are the ways that we can go about getting our PR?

Was anyone in the same situation before?

    Thanks!

If you are already on a WTR it should take you automatically on to PR as shown here . You would need to work for 2 years in a job using your listed job skills and then convert to PR. Your partner should be able to get residency through you if he was included in your application and doesn't need to have a job skill listed on either the LTSSL or the ISSL.

Thanks for the reply Motherbear. Sorry, I forgot to add in a crucial point to say that me as a principal applicant, can't find a job. But my partner has found one which is not listed on the LTSSL or ISSL but is listed on the ANZCO Skill Level 3, earning far less than the income of $45,000.

Hmmm.... what do you think we should do?

You had a job but lost it and can't find another one? I assume you had a job originally because you can't apply for a WTR unless you have a job offer.

I'm afraid your partner wouldn't get very far without a job on the LTSSL or ISSL or for an accredited employer, unless he had a job offer where the company couldn't find a kiwi to do the job. The only possibility, if the job is skilled and a kiwi couldn't be found, would be applying for a temporary work permit, but that wouldn't lead to residency.
