I am planning to apply for Immigration after I get the WP.

and is this a better approach or would you suggest to wait for the immigration and come to NZ later.

If any one has experience doing like this kindly share as this will be really helpful for me

Kindly help me out, I have to make to up mind soon and time is running.

Hi Spring25, welcome to MTNZ.

I guess it depends how quickly you want to get to NZ and start work. If you want to go soon, your best option would be to get a WP after you have a job offer, then, when you are ready, you can submit your application for residency. The two things can run together. If you are already working in NZ it will help your residency application as you should be able to claim extra points.

A straight application for residency will take several months and would be a slower route, so it's up to you which way you want to go. Without a WP you wouldn't be able to work in NZ and would have to wait for the residency application to go through.

I'm sure IT jobs would be quite easy to find in NZ and it would be easier for you to find a job if you are already there in the country.

Thanks Mother Bear, your reply gives me confidence. If I can manage a job I would prefer to leave soon.
