Default Oversayed USA visa

Hello! I overstayed my USA visa, is there any chance I would be able to get Nz residency? I've been married to a Kiwi for 5 years. Is there any one here who has overstayed in any country and been able to get NZ recidency?

Ive been reading the Nz immigration web site and looks like I need to have an FBI check done.

hey there!

inz wont like that you have overstayed but when you apply for pr it wont have any effects on it... if you have lived with your kiwi partner away from nz for over 2 years they ll be keen to get him back so your application will be prioritized as well

they might come back to you and ask u some questions but nothing to really worry about !

good luck

If they catch you and remove you from the country, then you'll be banned from returning to NZ for however long they see fit (usually 3 years to permanent). If you do something to rectify it now, then chances are they could be happy with that. I'd do something ASAP though as Immigration are being dragged through the media right now for all sorts of wrong doings, so are most likely going to be in 'very strict' mode right now.

Good luck!

Over stayers are not tolerated very well by immigration. What Taffy said is true.= as they will remove you and deport you if found. They will put you on the next plane out.
