Cool Apply first or go NZ for a interview?

I am a Swedish professional media, event, film, radio and art producer. Could I qualified for the skilled workers list? And also, should I apply outside NZ, for a work permit?
On a interview inside NZ, employers may demand valid permit which allows employment. Difficult to make a choice here! Apply first or go NZ for a interview?
And how long does it take to process a Skilled Worker Visa application? If all my paper is ok, weeks, months, years?

Sincerely

Erik Eriksson

I am not sure but I thought you can only apply for a work permit if you have a job offer bevorehand... As far as I know it's different with working holidays, though...
Can you even afford to go to NZ just for an interview? The travel costs are at least 100€ (don't know what this is in crowns) and you'd fly over 30 hours on the way there and same back again...
IF you do have that much money, why don't stay in NZ for a few weeks at least on holidays and use the time to look for possible jobs and have interviews?

I would look for a job while still in Sweden. A Interview can be done via Skype. After you have an offer apply for a Work Permit. That is fast.

But when you have time and money go to NZ and look for a job. But to get a visa it is not always easier in NZ. Sometimes they check for a log time :-(
