Default Application for residence form questions

Hi guys my name is Gavin and i am sponsoring my fiancee and i have a couple of questions refering to the NZIS 1000 form which is the form for application for residence which my fiancee fills out. but some questions are a little vague to if i have to put my name on them or not.
the questions are,
A25-partners passport details, i recon i put my name here.
A26-Is your partner included in the application Yes/No, I thought that since my name is on it i am included, But i am the sponser so prob not.
A27-Give all details of your partners family. since i am the sponser do i do this?

A89-questions apply to everyone included in this application, list the countries that you have lived in/visted, Again since i am the sponser do i fill this in as my name is in the application.

Thank you, if you can help.

Hi Gavin

From memory this is how my partner's form was filled in. When they talk about people included in the application, they only mean applicants. It may help if you think of it as your partner's application, rather than yours. That's what I did anyway!

Any more ?s, just fire away!

Smile hey there

Hi Gavin,

My partner is a kiwi and he is sponsoring me to go over to NZ. It may not apply to you but just to let you know that as a sponsor if you!! have lived and worked in a country for more than 12 months in the past few years, you will have to provide a police certificate for that country!!

Just giving you a heads up as we missed that, and were told last minute from our immigration officer, my partner worked in Oz for couple years, so now this is prolonging my application. If we knew at the start it would all have been dealt with.

So as i say, may mean nothing too you , but if you have worked in another country and it will show on your evidence of partnership, then apply for the police certificates asap, as they may take ages.

Good luck
Gill Dundee Scotland

I am a New Zealander sponsoring my husband under the Family/Partnership category. We had the same problem working out which questions applied to me. One quick call to the NZ Consulate in Washington DC and we had it all sorted.

Default Thanks

Ah cool, thanks for answering those questions for me!

We have both sets of police certificates, letter from my fiancee's mum saying we live with her, medical certificate, my bank stats from back home in NZ, birthday/xmas cards, plane tickets from our holidays etc etc. We are hoping this should be enough?!

Just another quick one, on Q A83 it asks for a National ID number given to us by the government: would this be her National Insurance no? Would i also have to put mine in there too??

Thanks again all

Gav

Hi Gav:

You don't fill in the National ID question...Don't know what your partner would fill in for National ID...Being as we are in USA my husband gave his Social Secirity number.

Hope this helps.

Suzanne.

Please could you give me an outline of your covering letter submitted, I have received an example of one for an EOI/and applicants that already have a case officer but i dont think we need this since we are applying under the partnership policy.......im worried now....should we have a case officer by now too??!!

Any responses to this would be much appreciated as we are heading to the INZ London on Tuesday!!

Hi Becks:

I am glad I was able to help you with some of your questions in regards to your fiancee applying for PR under the Partnership Policy.

In regards to your question about a covering letter... I presume you are talking about the cover letter you will include with your fiancee's application.
My husband's cover letter was a detailed account of what was contained in the package he sent to the NZ Embassy. He listed in the letter what order he had put the required paperwork and evidence of our relationship in the package..

You won't get a Case Officer assigned to your Application until they actually receive all your paperwork.

My husband sent in his application etc to the NZ Embassy in Washington DC on 14th April (Fedex priority overnight). The Embassy received the package on 15th and he was assigned a Case Officer on 16th. ...

Do you also realize that as a sponsor and a NZ Citizen NZIS requires a Police Clearance from New Zealand for you as well as the one you get from where you are now living. They will do this for you.

Hope this helps,

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I will try to help you out. Since we are both going down the Partnership Policy path.

Cheers,

Suzanne.

Hi Becks:

Yes they will get NZ Police Certificate. When we sent in my husband's application they sent us back a letter telling us who his Case Officer was and saying they had applied for a NZ Police Clearance.
Good luck for Tuesday...Let us know how it all went for you.

Keeweegal... Requiring Police Certificates for the sponsor only came in late last year. Can't remember the exact month. We found out after we had received my hiusband's FBI check back and then we had to turn around and send for a FBI clearance for me .

Cheers,
Suzanne.

As a NZ Citizen and the sponsor, I didn't get a police clearance from either NZ or the UK.
