Default Crikey!

Ah ok, so hopefully they should get the police cert from NZ for him as we didnt realise this was needed (we only have the uk one?!).....and as per KG's reply fingers crossed this wont be needed
I hope i have everything needed now, its a bit late if not!

Does anyone know if you get to sit down with someone at the INZ London to discuss things or do they just take the folder with all your stuff in and send you home to wait??

As you can tell from the above i have now turned into a blabbering, nonsense speaking idiot from all this......i can hear the men in their little white coats coming now!

Thanks again Sue and KG x

Hi Cookoo......we went to London on Wednesday to hand in my application for PR sponsored by my hubby. You go into NZ House and ask at the desk for the emigration department they let you in the door and tell you to go up in the lift to the Mezzanine Floor. There you take a ticket for permanent residency and sit and wait until your number is called. You can go through the documentation with an officer there and if everything is in order they will lodge your application on the computer and take your money. They are open from around 10am through until 3.45pm so make sure you dont get there too early or too late. When we went it was quiet but if you have to wait your turn you need to allow 30 minutes for each person to do their bit.

Today i received my letter telling me i will be assigned a case officer in the next two weeks. To expect and answer within 12 weeks.

We got to NZ a little too late but a very nice man took our envelope with everything in. That was on a Friday - on the Monday my status had changed to 'lodged' and I then got a letter on the Wednesday saying it was being 'considered'. I had already been assigned a CO as I had a job offer and was going through the SMC.

I just got residency through partnership in 7 days....I think if you are really organised with your paperwork this helps it to be dealt with promptly...couple of tips that may (who knows?) have helped with promptness....

Be brief on the covering letter but put down a list of Enclosures so they can do a quick check as to what you enclosed.

Get the NZ partner to put together a brief letter saying that they are happy to sponsor you.

NZIS London has a list on their site of how to put everything together...read this then you know you are doing what they want!

My NZ parther and I got police reports (as he has been in UK for 8 years) and myself and our son had medicals. Enclose x-rays with paperwork so they have everything.

Any questions just ask as it is all still fresh in my memory...got approval this week!

Default Done!

Hey guys

Well its all done, we got there at about 10.30am expecting a long wait but was seen within the first 5 minutes. The guy behind the desk said everything looked in order but we did leave a box of relationship evidence they will have to go through!! Im thinking maybe not so much evidence was needed?? (i now feel lost without anything to worry about or organize!)

Thanks for all your help so far, i'll keep you posted with how things are going!

Becky

Hi Becky:

So glad to hear all went well for you when you took your application in.
My husband had to get another Urinalysis Test done as the one he had for his medical showed some "out of range" results. We got the results to his second test back yesterday (all was ok) and sent them Fedex overnight to the NZ Embassy, Washington DC. We checked the status of the package online this morning and apparently they had recieved the package. So now we sit and wait for approval.

Good luck with your application...Hope you hear something soon.

Suzanne.
