You need to send in the WTR application and all necessary documents within 3 months from the date of the communication confirming you have WTR. After that INZ should issue you with a WTR visa, which will give you time to get to NZ and find yourself a job. Once you have a job offer and you let NZIS know, they should grant your PR.

Processing the WTR yourself shouldn't have any effect on your application (except it will save you a lot of money).

Hi I m not sure how it all works but I work for a small web company we had a person on a visitors permit apply for a job here as programmer he was here with his whole family
2 kids and wife all on visitors permit

we offered him the job and was told by Img that as long as we paid 50K per year he could get a work permit

we employed him filled out the forms then he quit 2 days later so we had to tell Img about that so not sure what was up with that
