Partnership Work Permit Limit

Hello all,

I have a question about the limit on extending a work permit under partnership. Is it true that you may only apply for further work permits up until 2 years from your arrival date here in NZ and no longer? I'm a bit confused as I've also read that you can apply for unlimited work permit extensions/new work permits and I happened upon a post where someone had mentioned being here on a partnership work permit for 3 and a half years. Does the time limit on work permits apply to the maximum amount allowed for each application lodgment or the total maximum stay period?

Hi,

There's a limit on how long each work permit lasts (3 years max) but there's no limit on how many times you can renew it. The only thing is, you are assessed at each renewal so each renewal isnt guaranteed.
