Hi calium_b, Welcome to the forum

As it stands, with a student permit, you are not allowed to work. However, if you contact the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS), you can apply to be allowed to do part-time work and, if they agree, they will add the special permission to your permit. It very much depends on your circumstances as to whether or not they will allow it.

Hope this helps - come back to us if you need any more advice

Calium_b. Again, welcome to MoveToNZ.

Have a look at what NZIS says about working while studying. You can undertake some part time work, but there are conditions. Scroll about half way down the page and it tells you what the conditions are.
