Default Accompanying husband on WHV

My Hubby is applying for a WHV in order to get us all to NZ as quick as possible.

The plan is that he goes out first and gets a job and accomodation sorted and I follow on as a visitor with our 2 kids. But if his WHV lasts for 23 months and I can only visit for 6 months then there may be a problem. We intend to apply immediately for permanent residency once he is working out there but I really don't fancy leaving the country in between with our kids.

Any ideas?

Hi Marniepops, to the forum.

There should be no problem with you entering NZ on a visitor's visa which, if you're coming from the UK, will last you for 6 months. ?However, you can apply to extend this another 3 months, giving you 9 months. ?By that time, hopefully, your hubby should have some idea whether he'll be on the verge of being granted PR and, if you are running out of time on your VV, you can further extend it possibly another 3 months because of your circumstances i.e. the impending PR.

Good luck with it all. ?
