    Post Residence permit under partnership.

    Hi There,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with getting a residence permit, under the partnership category, processed at the Wellington branch.

I submitted my application last week. Its a straightforward app, in that I have a clean medical and police cert. My partner and I have also been living together in Wellington for the required 12 months and I was granted a 12 month permit last year through the partnership category.

We supplied masses of evidence about our relationship, everything you can think of,including an invitation and flight tickets to Ireland for my brothers wedding which we attended in April.

The website indicates that 6 months is the waiting time for applications of this sort to be allocated to a case officer. Has this been the reality for many people ?

Also, once it has been allocated to the case officer- does it then take another few months for them to process it ?

Im hoping to have an answer by November 2010 by the latest as I am hoping to apply to study in Massey Palmy but applications for the course close on December 1st 2010

If anyone can share their experiences with me that would be awesome :) !!!

    Love this forum !!!

    Hi there

Yes it does take a while! i just got my letter yesterday that said they have approved me for a residence permit and to send them my passport for stamping (which i am actually worried about how long that bit will take!) as i applied for residence in january so has taken a good 6 months! and i have only been in the country since last October. Sounds like you should be fine with all your evidence tho so just a case of waiting me thinks!
