Does anything say summer like pohutukawa blossoms?

Aucklanders soaking up the sun at Okahu Bay yesterday were treated to blooming bunches of "the New Zealand Christmas tree". The coastal favourite is now in its peak season of flowering. is looking for the best pohutukawa photos from our readers.

If you have a photo of New Zealand's "Christmas tree" in full bloom, send it to us and we will feature the best ones online for all to see.

    From here.

I found it interesting that when we returned from NZ to the Northern Hemisphere in Dec 2004, that pohutukawas in San Francisco were blooming. I guess that isn't triggered by light/dark cycles.
