Flexible work practices popular for all

Almost all New Zealand employers and employees would welcome more flexible work practices in their workplace, but support for legislation on the issue is divided.

The Department of Labour today released the results of consultation from late last year on key issues and possible approaches for quality flexible work.

It found that of the more than 800 individuals and groups surveyed, over 90 percent of employers and staff supported the idea of a better work/life balance.

Acting chief executive Graeme Buchanan said the department asked New Zealanders for feedback on how they envisaged workplace flexibility working for them.
