Teachers to get rise

Secondary teachers will get a 4 per cent pay rise next year after voting to ratify a collective agreement.

Under the deal, pay will go up 12.5 per cent over three years. But Post Primary Teachers' Association president Robin Duff warned that the settlement was unlikely to ease the serious recruitment and retention problems that will face secondary schools by 2010.
