Kiwis to work 'til they drop

The bad news is more than half of us no longer expect to be able to retire.

The good news is, many don't seem to care.

While 65 used to be the age to stop working and start relaxing, a new survey shows 52 per cent of Kiwis expect to keep working, and a large proportion say that's by choice.

In all, 44 per cent of people said they would keep on working, at least part-time, after 65 even if they had amassed a big enough nest egg to live on.

The findings come from a survey conducted by an online market research company for fund manager ING, which measures public knowledge of KiwiSaver.
