Tax and cost rises to hit drinkers
6:00AM Saturday June 30, 2007

A round of drinks at the local pub is to cost more. The price to bars of all alcoholic beverages goes up every July 1 driven by increases in excise tax.

The Hospitality Association says manufacturers and distributors are also passing on additional costs for fuel, transport, labour rates and packaging.

Not the best news I've read recently.... oh well so much for quitting having a glass on a school night.

All that VB and Tui that was left over from our house warming would not normally going to get drunk but at pre-budget prices be silly not to.

Actually I'd didn't even buy any VB..... or Tui...
