So why does it hang on the yellow page as it changes from one page to the next but doesn't do it on the old style forum? It only started yesterday afternoon (my time) and before that it was fine. I did ask somewhere else if it was to do with the ads because it was after they went on that this started. At the bottom it was waiting for 'googlesyndication'. Today it just says it's waiting for 'movetonz'.

My net connection isn't the best today because we've got a bit of a sandstorm but everything else is working OK.

I don't know, it's working like lightening for me. Anyone else experiencing speed issues with the new forum? Specifically people not in NZ, as that's where the site is hosted so will naturally be faster!

All good here!

On IE7. Had a few speed problems when I first moved over to the new style, but in the last couple of days its sped up, & I think its now quicker than before.

Yes, but the new one has ads on it and my Net connection seems to be struggling with adverts these days. I often get either a or a message about not being able to be displayed where the ads should be. The old forum, which I begrudgingly had to revert to, isn't fast changing pages but it's a lot quicker than the new one has been since yesterday. It seems to be related to something that happened yesterday (Saturday).

*Holding breath* - it's working again properly now. Wonder what's suddenly changed. Perhaps at this time of night all the locals are out in their cars posing or hooning and not on the Internet slowing my connection speed. Whatever it is, I shall enjoy it while it lasts.

No it's not . Only lasted for a couple of goes then it stuck again. I had time to take my turn at Scrabulous while the page loaded. Second time, I went to the kitchen to get a banana, ate it, went to the loo, took my turn at Scramble all before the page finally came up.

Ads are top right of the new forum, Sal. Look fairly insignificant and harmless, but something has made the new forum a mare to work with and this seemed to coincide with Google appearing at the top. Can't explain why it suddenly started working for a short while tonight. Perhaps the ads were off having their tea break and didn't notice me sneaking in.
