I like the gold fadey background and it goes well with the red but doesn't compliment the body of the forum. You're mixing colour groups - greys come in the cool blues category and cream or beige goes with the warmer colours. I think there's too much of a contrast between the cool grey and warm gold.

The rest of it..... it just looks a bit messy down the lefthand side where the boxes suddenly stop. Also the title bar sticks out too far on some screens and needs to be brought into line with the rest of the forum.

I have had the 'new' colour scheme on for a couple of days now an dit is slowley growing on me. I agree with MB that the blue/greys don't mix with the gold/reds- think you might have to decide between cool or warm Taffy!! If you fancy sticking with the 'cool' colours which have kind of become part of the forum maybe adding some purpley colours to add a bit of contrast and colour.

The top of the screen is looking a bit bare so could do with something on the right hand side.

As for the Kiwi- i think it should be a male one- after all they blokes do seem to be a little out numbered around here and still thinking of a name.

Yeah, I haven't got as far as changing the grays as yet. Wanted to make sure I liked the new layout first as it takes hours to change everything!

The boxes on the lefthand side, although nice and colourful, conflict with the lines of the forum menu i e. they don't line up at all and cause the page to look too 'busy' and cluttered. It needs streamlining somehow. I guess the boxes are too bulky to put across the top instead of down the side. They would be too far out of view if you put them across the bottom.

I think you need some of the gold background colour to appear on the menu to carry it over. If you had a light cream background to the forum you could have the gold colour where the darker grey bars are now, maybe. The red and the gold go well together.

I'm more or less resident on the new-style forum now. The old forum seems very cold and grey after using the new one. Would it be possible to stick a log-in box on every page so we can log in from wherever we are on the forum, like on the old-style one?

I have a habit of browsing the previous night's offerings when I boot up the PC in the morning and, if I find a post that I would like to reply to quickly, I now have to go back to the menu page in order to log in and then back to the post, which is a tad tedious when I'm busy wrestling with my cereal.

One thing with the new style is that you have not got the radio station details or blog details at the top. Are these to follow?

The radio and blogs are in the left side menu, although these arent visible when you're reading an actual thread.

Can you not keep yourself logged on MB? I have never had to sign in since I joined as I selected keep me logged on on this computer (or something along those lines)

No I didn't bother to select that as I sometimes need a bit of 'quiet time' where I don't appear to be 'on duty', so I slink around reading what's come in and then deciding what to answer and how to answer it. Some posts require hours of digging around to come up with info (especially with my dodgy Internet connection) and if someone is hanging around in the hope that I'm going to answer them anytime soon, I would only disappoint them if they're waiting a long time.

On the old-style forum I'm sure I could log in on any of the pages so, if I spotted a post I could answer, I could dive in quickly without going back to the main menu, as I do now. Another reason I like to be able to log in quickly is when spammers have been at work (like today - you know who you are ) and I can get in quick and wipe them out .

MB, What about signing in under Stealth Mode aka Invisible mode? I presume you could then still deal with the "undesirables"
