Default Posts Already Read Still Showing Unread
If anyone is experiencing problems where posts they have already read are showing up as unread when they go back to the forum, do the following:

Log in if not already logged in, then log out. You may still show as being online, but down worry, just close down all your browser windows.

Go back to the site and if you are still logged in, log out and back in again or if not just log in again and they should be gone.

Confusing, I know! You'll only need to do this one time though.

I've changed the way read posts are handled. You're probably seeing a load of posts you've already read now, and they will need clearing off if you dont fancy going through everything again.

Just go to the forum home page, and at the bottom of all the categories you'll see a link called 'Mark All Forums Read'. Click that to wipe the slate clean and you'll be good to go.

We'll get there :(

I've noticed on some threads that members' names appear in small black type instead of larger red clickable type. In other places it's OK and sometimes it's mixed through. Weird.

I also noticed little asterisks in amongst the message text now and then and wondered what they're there for.

I'm seeing old posts where the new posts should be on some threads - notably on this thread. I thought I'd become a time traveller, only backwards, when I found I was reading 2005 posts. How has that happened? I haven't elected to view old posts first or anything like that. And what's more, your last post on here didn't appear on the thread menu at all although it did on the main menu.

Also find it REALLY annoying that, whenever I go back into a post to edit it (which I do a lot being an indecisive sort of gal), it's showing the 'Last edited by' message even though no one's posted after me. Grrrrrr.

I believe the asterisks are in place of underlines, and possibly bolds and italics. Some sort of transfer glitch, I suppose.

I also noted in my profile that I had a new birthday. More cake for me.
