Should we change the forum?

Looks pretty much like the current forum so not much excitement there. It's more cluttered up the top with the extra bit in there. Can't tell what it's really going to be like until it's populated with all our posts and looks 'more like home'.

Is all the work you've done going to be worth the effort? Don't want to sound ungrateful, but seems a lot to have done just to give us a better search facility and I have my reservations on that until I use it. I'd settled into the current facility after a few teething problems and enjoyed being able to choose different search times and also whether it was a single word or a phrase. It did let me down by not going back far enough, but whether that was the facility's fault or the fact that there was a problem after the changeover from the hacked forum to the current one, I don't know.

Are there any other benefits to this new forum that will make it more appealing? I'm sure I'll miss some of my favourite 'toys' on here that I use a lot on the bar over the top of the message box, but I'll just have to go with the flow (as long as we're going to have some decent smileys ;)).

Oh, it doesn't seem to matter what I think, it's banned me again. *I'm obviously a persona non grata where that forum is concerned. *Must be my deodorant. *

And now I've finally managed to view the menu page again, I see I am logged in, despite being banned forever. How confusing AND my birthday is not 30th November as it states (unless I'm like the Queen and have 2 birthdays. *Now that doesn't sound too bad). *

P.S. *Help! I can't log out. *I'm trapped in an empty forum. *I'll be there till morning when Taffy wakes up and lets me out. *

Looking good but seems a bit devoid of new posts. Nothing's come in overnight considering how busy it's been lately. Hope we haven't frightened everyone off.

Bit concerned about the smileys. Not sure if my Smileypad is working on here unless you still have to sort that out. If it doesn't I'm in trouble as there'll be heaps of red crosses. Can't even find the smileys on here. Are they in hiding?

See I've been demoted from 4000+ posts down to 1,999. New forum can't cope with such a mouthy moderator, eh?

The new forum has only been live for about 2 or 3 hours, so there wont be many new posts yet!

You might, as everyone else probably should, have to update your profile to make sure all the settings you want are in place. Smilies are on the right of the reply box (not the quick reply box).

You can find the profile editing under 'User CP' on the top menu

At least my big photos are properly displayed now.

Still can't find the smileys despite having used both quick reply and the other one. Off out shopping now so will have a play around later. Looks like Smileypad is working anyway so all's well.
