Forum Notifications

Yes, at long last, forum notifications sent to your email address will take you directly to the post that was made!

No more having to scroll down through to figure out what's new, you're shuttled right to the door :)

Nice, but if there are 10 or so notifications, won't that mean we'll be shuffling to and fro between forum and mailbox? Don't want to sound ungrateful though :-[. I guess it's because I don't go to the threads from my mailbox, I go straight to the forum and sift through new posts from there.

Would be nice to open a thread and be taken to the last unread post or even to the last post as it would be quicker than scrolling down the page. :-/

If you want to be taken to the last post on a thread from within the forum itself, click on the date above the last posters name!

Suddenly stopped receiving email notifications from the forum. Anyone else having the same problem? :-/

As an aside.....Taffy, I'm not surprised you're not making much money from the ads this forum carries as most of them are related to Australia. What's Google playing at? Preferred the ads on the old forum where it threw up ads relating to the subject matter being discussed at the time. Don't like this new-style advertising at all. >:(

Had a problem with the server not being able to resolve domain names correctly, so it was unable to find how to send emails out. Thats been fixed now so you should start getting notifications again.

Those ads are only there to try cover costs Bear, sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. If no one is advertising New Zealand related sites, then Google delivers the next best thing. I've no doubt that a few people looking at NZ are also considering Australia, so it's no biggie!

Fear not Bear, I wont be closing the site down just because it costs a few bucks to run!

I'm getting slack - missed this one coming in. :-[ Yes, all up an running again, thanks, apart from having power cuts due to heavy rain and the Internet down for undisclosed reasons over the last couple of days ::) . Doesn't make a Forum Bear's life any easier. ;D

With regard to the ads, I've clicked on a few that I thought I might find interesting and of use (apart from earning you the odd buck :-* ) and was disappointed to see that the title of the ad often bears no relation to what's in behind it. Google and it's weird and wonderful ways :D.
