Re MB's dislike of the green: The green background color doesn't bother me much, but the aqua-ish blue as shown in the banner is perkier and a bit "cleaner" looking.

As I mentioned in another thread, I miss the "see new post since last visit" function. It saved me a lot of thrashing about.

I also miss the personal info bits in the left sidebar, such as the location of the person posting. Same reason as MB. Besides, that way I can read posts with an appropriate accent :D.

I've put my location and date of arrival in NZ in my 'signature' which appears at the end of every post. Mind you, many would have to guess the accent. ;)

No it was just a fluke, Selchie (you know those crazy things I keep seeing but no one else does and Taffy cusses me ::)). ?When I clicked to go into a category, the menu was a stormy dark grey which looked very sombre and funereal. ?It happened when the new forum was only just up and running but disappeared again the next day. ?I mailed Taffy a copy of it but couldn't put it up on the forum to prove my sanity BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A PHOTO UPLOAD SITE YET ?;).

Looks like the forum's had a scrub down.

Besides, that way I can read posts with an appropriate accent ?:D. ?Would agree with that. ?I like to see where people are from or to remind myself if I'm trying to answer a query. ?It's easy for me to assume someone is from the UK but, as we all know, that ain't necessarily so. ?I know the locations can be displayed as I've seen it on the Yabb forum. ?I put mine in but don't know why it's not displayed. ?Must be a Taffy thing where he has to request that locations are displayed.

Another point, on Search (new forum) I can't go back. ?It tells me that the page has expired or something and I have to repeatedly resubmit my information which is really hard when you're trying to find something and need to go in and out of different threads. ?This one is still outstanding and is one I tangle with a lot when I'm doing searches. ?It's really frustrating to have to resubmit the info each time I've gone into a topic, come out again and wish to continue the search.

Also in Search, the name of the topics brought up are in white and barely visible. ?I can see them if I hold the mouse over them, but would be nice to have it in a different colour so it's immediately readable.

Unfortunately we've lost the end of some of the longer posts due to the restriction on the number of characters allowed, so apologies in advance if yours has been nipped in the bud or if you find one of my newspaper articles that's stopped short.

Please, please can we have more results displayed in the Search facility? ?We're only allowed 15 and sometimes this only takes me back maybe a month if the word I'm researching is a commonly used one. ?If the post I'm looking for is older than that, I have to search manually through hundreds of posts which is very sole-destroying and time consuming.

I have asked previously. ? :P :D

Sorry, I though you made a comment about a dull green. I'm glad your monitor got brightened up.

The "Last 10 Posts" feature doesn't fit my bill. But I'm managing by sifting through the forum "menus". I just miss the old convenient "since last visit" feature.

Ok MB, you can now have up to 50 results in a search but be warned that it is quite slow now!

Selchie, that one's on my agenda to figure out how to do it, so you may get it back yet!

Thanks, that'll do nicely although, Sod's Law, I'll next be researching something from a year+ ago and it still won't be enough ? ::). ?It no doubt takes longer to load up because it shows whole posts instead of just the thread titles like we had before. However, when compared to how long it took me trying to search manually, it's a mere tick of the clock.

Now this seems a good time to remind you of an earlier request for a different colour for the Search results thread titles as white on pale grey (or is it blue?) is barely visible ? :o. ?As you can tell, I spend a lot of time rummaging round in Search ? :(. ? ?
