Forum Re-vamping

Hi All,

I'm thinking about having a change around in the forum to introduce some new categories and remove some little used ones. Does anyone have any comments on these as forum sections:

General NZ Chat
Locations / Properties
Expression of Interest Questions
Invitation to Apply Questions
Work Permits / Working Holiday Visas
Other Visas / Permits / Immigration Questions
The Coffee House
Website Enhancements

I think this arrangement will help people find what they are looking for faster, rather than digging through the now General and Immigration sections etc.

Comments / Suggestions / Additions / Subtractions encouraged and very welcome!!

is it worth splitting the places/property into north and south island??

I dont know really. Quite a lot of the property/location questions are relevant to both islands, such as motgages, buying land etc. If a few more people think its beneficial then it shall be done!

Would "Other...Questions" be a good place for practicalities such as moving, pets, airlines, or might these qualify for another heading?

Probably under the Other Visa/Permit/Immigration Questions part, which is open to a little renaming!

This is my feeble suggestion. The membership size obviously doesn't allow for too many categories but I've listed these in the order that people might progress through their NZ experience. Craig made a good point about the North/South divide but, there again, I don't think there is enough activity on here at the moment to support yet another category.

EOI/ITA Questions
Permits/Visas
Travel/Shipping
Location/Properties
Cost of living/Shopping/Prices
Any other questions/advice
Photos
Website Enhancement

Doesn't this site come in any other colours :smiley4: ? Grey is easy on the eye but a very 'man' colour. 'Drab' is the word I'd use. And where are the new emoticons you promised me :icon_evil: ?

We used to have a Shopping / Cost of living section, and I dont think it ever saw more than 2 or 3 posts!

Photos is a good one, so I might separare Locations / Properties in to 2 sub-categories, one for questions, one for photos.

Travel and shipping is very limited in what can be asked / said so probably wouldnt be well used.

And how could you forget the all important Coffee House?!

Just thought that there might be a few questions raised about travel/shipping which would include queries about

[b:3e1a5136c6]Shipping[/b:3e1a5136c6]: to sell in the UK or take to NZ/prices and recommended companies for shipping/requirements for cleaning gardening and outdoor items for shipping/items not allowed to be shipped/MAF inspections etc.

Currently though, I think the site is suffering from lack of people travelling imminently so attention is focused in a few particular areas only. Other than Saraian, are there any others who are about to set off to the Promised Land?
