Default Lauren's prom!! OMG I can't be that old!
It was Lauren's prom on Friday night and just look at my little girl! Seems like only yesterday that I held her in my arms for the first time and wept at the wonder and newness of her My throat catches as I recall the unfathomable tide of emotion she provoked in me and my realisation that I was lost to her forever. I am so proud of all that she has become and am excited about what she is yet to be.

The girl in the brown is her best friend Steph. There's one of her with Poppy and one of her with Charlie and one of her with me and then one of her and her friends just before they got in the limo.

I remember my daughters prom 2 years ago. She looked sooo grown up it brought a lump to my throat and her dads. It only sems like yesterday they were holding your hand walking to nursery school. It is at this point you realise they are young adults. My daughter is like my best friend now. I can talk to her about anything and she has a sensible head on her shoulders - unlike her mum

She is a credit to you Dawn.

I've got a few years before Shauna's prom (she's only 9) but at her holy communion I sat and cried in the hairdressers when she was having her hair done, I thought the next time she'll be in white will be her wedding day (though she tells me she's never getting married).

I always thought prom as an American thing ... I guess you learn something every day. Do they do prom in NZ as well?

Aaww Dawn, almost brought a lump to my throat looking at them and she's not even my daughter!

Beautiful, beautiful photos, your daughter should be proud of herself and appreciative of how good her mum is

I'm very envious that you get to experience all these special times, I've already missed out on a lot with my 3 boys back in Wales, so make sure you appreciate them.

Not long till NZ now eh?

I also didn't know that proms were held beyond the US. What a lovely young woman Lauren is - the whole family looks great!

I know how you feel about the passing of time. It feels like only a couple of years ago that my nephews were little boys gazing wonderingly at the world, and now the middle one (22) has made my baby sister a grandmother twice over! They're sure to catch up with me soon. Other than a few aches and pains, and lessons well learned, I still feel about 30 years old.
