Alison, we liked Taranaki wen we visited it in our tour, in fact we liked the whole of that region, it's wild and beautiful. Taffy we've got pics of various locations we visited whilst we were out and about so I'l get them to you.

I've got a whole bunch of pics in my blog, including some that I took of Lyttleton Harbor and the Port Hills, New Brighton Pier and beach, Cathedral Square, and the Waimakiriri River (where Koko pushed me in!).

One day, I will tell the REAL story about Hopeful's swim in the Mighty Waimakariri.....

Love the pics of the river though. If I'd seen them sooner, I would have known there was a big bridge before I rammed my kayak into it last Friday.

Honestly officer, the bridge jump out in front of me and I had nowhere to go!

The flow in our end of the Waimak has been quite fast lately (ask Hopeful) so I hit the bridge head on at ramming speed! I chipped the front of the kayak (good job it's not a new one), but luckily, I managed to stay upright. I would have been rolled over by the current and no doubt trapped against the bridge if I'd struck it sideways on. Now that would have been funny......
