Default MB's second trip to NZ

A few pics from our trip, although the right hand sides have been chopped off, which robs us of the benefit of seeing the full images. There used to be a slider to allow viewing of wider pics, but it doesn't appear to work on here any more :(.

I'm afraid we didn't have time to do any touristy things as we were working on the house for a fair bit of our stay or meeting with tradesmen to organise other work.

Early morning mist coming off the river and drifting through the trees.

A branch in our rear paddock, fallen during a storm and which had the inconsideration to bring down the electric fence.

Taken on the only perfectly clear day I?ve seen during my 2 trips to NZ. ?One of the views from the kitchen window.

Rural life! ?These cows had climbed up a very steep embankment just so they could partake of some not very appetising weeds. ?Unfortunately I wasn?t quick enough with the camera earlier in the day to catch the cow that appeared on the patio outside our bedroom window. ?He and his pal had found an open gate and decided to make an early (VERY early!) morning call. ?Gave us all a start I can tell you, and saw us running around the garden in our night attire rounding them up.

A few photos taken on a trip to Mt. Maunganui. ?We took a walk along the spit of land that frequently makes an appearance in photos of the beach area and these pics were taken along the route and also show some of the views from there. ?The first pic was taken by Taffy some time ago and I?ve pinched it because I didn?t take one of the spit from the ?outside?. ?

Oddly enough, soon after we arrived on the beach it started to cloud over and remained very dark and threatening the whole time. ?As soon as we moved off the beach and walked towards the shops, the cloud followed us inland and left a beautiful blue sky hovering over the beach. ?

You're getting paranoid ... by the way the weather's much nicer here in NZ now! ? ;D ?Have you thought about asking Australia to pay for a visit there? ?Hear they have a drought. ?:D ?(Sorry - {big hug})

:)

What a lovely view from your window, and those cows! So funny, they're quite massive though so I bet he looked a bit scary peering through your bedroom window, ha!
I bet you can't wait to get here once and for all...

Thanks, Deb. Seeing as I didn't manage to get many nice touristy pics, here's a few more views from our place. The green, green grass of home. Sweet as.

View from the rear terrace

Rear paddocks

Rear paddocks again

View from side terrace

And yes, Deb, we can?t wait until we get there for good.

Oooh, artistic possibilities in that first misty morning photo.

I count ... one, two, three cars behind that RV on the stip. That's quite a traffic jam! ;)

Seriously, I live about 20 miles from the strip at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. On any summer day, traffic is backed up for miles along the coast, on Route 1, and on Interstate 95. To see a beach you could actually drive to (and would want to visit) is amazing.
