MB the black hanging thing was Olivia's lamp shade, she made the tree into a little house. She spent ages doing it and making a fire place and sand cakes and seeweed crisps. In the end Jacky & I got "invited to tea" and thats when the photo was taken. It was great for the kids to be creative, let their minds run wild, let their lungs fill with fresh air and to go home with a rosey glow to their cheeks. For us that was a prime example of what we are looking for in NZ life. And by the way we are finding it in heaps!

Absolutely wonderful. That's exactly what childhood should be all about (IMO). Makes me feel all warm and twinkly inside just thinking about it. More, more!!!

Nice foliage, MB. ...I'm sorry, but I forgot that you had been hobbling about for a while. Have your ankle has healed up well, then? Watch out for that little porch kitty from now on. One of my cats is such a pole dancer that I'm amazed I haven't tripped over her yet. It must be the years of cat-shuffle training that I have had.

Hi Guys, its me again.
My good woman has given me 5 mins or so to let you know we are still in the land of the living.
I will submit the photo again of ourselves as its on the PC hard drive currently in storage until end of March 2007.
Haven't forgotten about putting our experiences down on paper. Please be patient.
Have a fantastic Christmas and New year everybody.
Kind regards
Julian.

Hi Julian,

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Yes, it would be nice to hear the goss about living in Helensville ... it is not a place we hear much of.  Also that you and your family are hopefully settling down well.

Me and Mrs. KiwiHopeful, as taken by the 4 year-old Lil' KiwiHopeful at Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca, NY

Here's a shot of my paperwork before I sent it in ... the pile is actually about 1.5 inches tall!

That's a great photo, KiwiHopeful - your Lil'KiwiHopeful at four years of age has certainly got a steady hand and good eye!

Have one of those document piles too ... makes me shudder when I think of the weeks it took to put it all together.

Good to see some photos in this thread again. Nice to 'meet' you at last Kiwihopeful. You both look well wrapped up against the cold but at least you have your 'sunnies' on. :023:

That was Thanksgiving weekend in November. We were out hiking/geocaching in a state park near my in-law's place.

Notice the black and white theme? That's my daily NZ reminder to myself as I've suffered through what will hopefully be my last New Hampshire winter.

In case anyone is interested, it was 70 degrees (21?) last Tuesday and we got over a foot of snow Friday! We're due for a warm up today--it'll be 40 (4?)! :brrr:
