I've had such trouble resizing the few pics I've taken so far, with poor results due to squashing them into a smaller size etc. that I've taken the step of sticking them into a Yahoo photo album. You can click onto this link every now and then as I add more. Unfortunately, I can't add any dialogue so, if you want to ask any questions, you'll have to ask on here. I hope to get some more interesting photos as we get out and about more in the coming days.

Thanks Mother Bear, just enjoy your stay there and do not worry too much and waste too much time posting the pics. We all can wait when you return in 2 weeks time.. :icon_biggrin:

You might just have to Pulsarblu (after next week, anyway) ;) . We've bought a house in NZ and will be moving into it next weekend for the remainder of our stay in NZ. When we leave, Taffy and Welshgirl will live in there until their new house is built. After we've moved, we won't have broadband until the day we leave to fly back to Oman, only dial-up, so probably won't be able to post pictures until we get back.

Nice going Mother Bear with the house purchase. Is it a resale house or brand new property?

Have you already decided where (city / are) to stick your roots in New Zealand already since I think renting initially will be better for me though to get a taste of the different areas before purchasing a house.

Sorry for asking poking into your decision but I am just curious. :icon_rolleyes:

They have to stay in near Hamilton for Taffy's job I believe.

Look forward to seeing more pics when you're back online MB.

Pulsarblu, the house we've bought is quite old (1960's) but has potential and has been given a good report by the building surveyor. It has 3.5 acres of land and Taffy and Welshgirl will be building their new house on this land (if they're really nice to us and we let them. Oops, that's me . I'll try to put up some pics when we go there next (I did have some lovely pics of the 360 deg. views, but lost them again whilst struggling to sort out my picture files :-[ ).

For anyone else thinking of buying land and splitting it, like we are - it really is not easy to find something suitable at all. Each council has different rules and, if you want a big plot of land (found mainly in rural areas), often it's not possible to split the land. They seem to want only one house per huge section to keep the area looking rural and to protect it from over-development. We went through several potential properties before finding one that we could split, so it's been very frustrating. The process of house buying here seems so simple and quick that I felt it wasn't being done properly but, apparently, this is how it is here.

A family trip to Rotorua today. ?As you can see we had a really miserable time.

Now you see us.....

Now you don't

Bear and George, a steamy affair

Other pics can be seen on the other Yahoo link posted previously. ?Unfortunately, all the photos are mixed through with what was already on there. ?Wasn't a very good photo day as the weather went very dark.
