As you can see we were a sadly depleted bunch and the function was not without it's problems :( . For one, the MacDonald's car park we had arranged to meet up in, was not a MacDonald's car park any more, as another company had taken it over. We don't know if anyone got lost trying to track us down. Also there were several events taking place in Mt. Maunganui at the time and traffic was very congested plus parking spaces were at a premium.

Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves, the sun shone and the wind blew (with a vengence). I have a few pics of the beach and also some taken along the way from Hamilton to Mt. Maunganui. Alas, not being on my own computer, I'm having difficulty getting other programmes to resize the pics suitable for the forum. Perhaps, tomorrow, when I'm a bit fresher, I can work on it some more. Bed time now. Still no jetlag. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Errr well given two of the blokes look identical to each other, and one has a little girl, another has a few children. It's not terribly difficult to deduce is it ? ?;D

So what there was like 30 people who got a PM of details and 7 turned up? Weird, oh well still looks like you're all happy and the back drop looks good. Bit worried about all this talk of wind. Is it ever not windy in NZ?

It's not terribly difficult to deduce is it ? :D Which two blokes do we have on the forum that are related to each other then? ?I know who you mean, but think their faces are not as they normally are due to squinting in the sunlight. ?In reality, they don't look anything like each other.

Is it ever not windy in NZ? ?Not so far. ?It's a chilly wind as well. ?I have heard reports that it can be wind free on occasions.

This is how I envision SteveyC replying: Bah humbug. That's what they get for taking a picture in a sunny place like NZ ::) .... I can't wait until I get there!!

Have recently got back from our Coromandel holiday and want to say thank you Taffy and Welshgirl for hosting the belated Christmas get-together. :icon_biggrin:

OK, McDonalds isn't there anymore, but we found you (Mother Bear's crutch was the substitute lookout item for us!), had a great time by the beach and chatting to those there.

Well worth a repeat next year!

Trust you skybluearmy! ::) ;)

Most of us know that Mother Bear fractured her ankle and was hobbling along with the aid of a crutch (or crutches).

Now behave yourself!

;D
