MB, I had just finished putting out a little prayer for Chunky, when I scrolled to your report of his return. How's that for time-reverse effectiveness? I'm glad to hear that he's safe and well. He had to be re-neutered? Regenerating gonads or sloppy work? What fun, either way.

Thanks for thinking of Chunky, Selchie, and everyone else that had wished him safely back home. He first had an op in Qatar with an Egyptian ‘vet’ who gave him and his sister so much anaesthetic that he was knocked out for 18 hours and it killed his beloved little sister. Another more skilled vet later told us that the neutering op hadn’t been completed properly and offered to rectify the situation there and then without anaesthesia. As Chunky was already in great pain from an infection after being bitten by another cat, we declined the offer. When we last went on holiday and boarded the cats with the vet here, we decided to have Chunky ‘redone’. The vet said his remaining testicle had been attached to the wall of the sac and she’d had to ‘scrape it out’. We hoped all was well now, but maybe not if he’s still out chasing women. The vet did say it does sometimes happen that they retain some of their male habits if the op has been done later in life rather than when they are about 6 months old. Since the op he hasn’t appeared to respond to the wailings of the females around here, so we were hopeful. Ho hum, just hope he doesn’t go missing when we need to get him to the vet’s prior to our NZ holiday.

So that's the story of Chunky and his Regenerating Libido. Could make a film about it.

Right-o about Dubya being a nickname for W. Bush; apparently it's the family nickname to differentiate him from his daddy. I do disagree that one can be too stupid to be crooked, though. He's just not able to succeed without help from Darth Cheney, Enron, Halliburton and the gang. He reminds me of Zaphod Beeblebrox (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) - he's meant to be a distraction to keep us from noticing what the guys with real power are up to. It does amaze me that the American Axis of Evil can be so blatant and get away with so much, and that some people still approve and think they are righteous men . There are precious few in politicians whom I like or trust, but President Faust is bottom of the heap for me. All this is a big reason we're wanting to get out of the US.
