    Hi Nicky,

Just noticed that you live in Luton, I did til recently but now live in Flitwick.

I've been thinking more recently about moving to NZ but don't know if I'm kidding myself! I can enter easily enough by using my OZ visa which I used briefly but then decided Australia wasn't for me.

Why are you emigrating? Is the UK really that bad? God I really don't know.......

    Hi Nicky,
Quick question for you, I assume you are renting to start with then looking to buy at a later date, just to say we have been using an advisor here for the mortgage and she has been fantastic, I can pass on her details if you need then.

Clock is ticking away untill you fly out ...............

Thought an update was required

by nickydwuk on 28-05-2011 at 08:12 AM
Have been reading a lot of posts and blogs lately and thought it about time I updated this one on our current situation and all that has happened in the last 2 years.

My last blog entry was just before we flew out to start our new life in NZ - for those that have been following the forum you will know that we are back in the UK now. A brief summary of what has happened over the last 2 or more years.

Well, we all arrived in NZ in Sept 2008 excited, tired and apprehensive.

The Final Few Days

by nickydwuk on 14-09-2008 at 06:20 AM
Never thought we would see this week. It has been so long in the planning and doing stage and now it is all coming together!! Scarey!!! The dogs have gone on an extended holiday - they went with GA yesterday, we scattered the ashes of our other dog along his favourite walk today so we are now toatlly dogless I keep thinking of all the last minute things to be done - it seems a lot but isn't much when you get down to it. Once the packers arrive on Monday there's not much more we can do. The

House Sold at Last

by nickydwuk on 14-08-2008 at 10:19 AM
After much chasing (about 4 weeks) of buyers, solicitors, agents and surveyors our buyers have finally paid the deposit and we should exchange contracts later this week. At last we can relax knowing that the house has officially been sold and we can get on with the boring stuff such as packing up and flying to NZ Now I know why we have never moved - selling a house is so stressful I'm surprised we haven't come to blows.

We have spent so much time waiting to get to

Good news at last!!!

by nickydwuk on 25-06-2008 at 07:59 AM
At last it seems our boiler has been fixed. The engineer turned up nice and early yesterday and was able to see where the boiler was leaking from. It wasn't from the part that he had come to replace but thankfully he had a spare on his van of the faulty part. He replaced both anyway. He then discovered that the gas pressure was dangerously low and had to call out the emergency gas board. They came and sorted it so now we have a boiler that doesn't leak and a gas cooker that is working on full power

And so it continues........

by nickydwuk on 19-06-2008 at 02:54 AM
Our boiler engineer was supposed to come today to replace the part that they 'think' is causing the leak. Lo & behold I got a phone call at 9am to say he wouldn't be coming as his van had broken down - could he come next week instead . I was very calm and didn't raise my voice too much and agreed as I had no choice. OH just keeps saying forget the whole thing as we are leaving soon but I don't really want to hand over the house with a leaky boiler. I do have some pride
