    Default 1/2 Containers

Hi Can anyone help me. I'am looking at taking only a half container. Dont think i'll need much more.

How do I go about this can I request this from a Shipping Co or do I have to find one myself to share myself.

    Hi EB,

Standard containers are 20' long or 40' long. You might be able to get hold of a 10' container which might be what you're after. If you have exclusive use of a container, it will be shipped as soon as it's full, providing there's space on the next available boat of course.

If you take a shared container, the shipping company will hold it until they can fill the rest of the space. In other words, your stuff won't leave until someone else is willing to pay for the other half of the container. That could take anything from a few days to a few weeks or even a few months. Expect to wait longer if you choose a final destination that's off the beaten track.....

The best advice is to ring a few different shipping companies, tell them what you need and ask for a price. Don't be surprised if they ask to send a rep to measure your stuff.

    Good luck.
