Default Transfering currency out of NZ

Are there any restriction to be aware of on transfering wealth (your own) outside of NZ ?? someone told me there might be ?

There isn't a restriction but if you carry x amount of currency you need to declare it. I forget the exact amounts.

You have to declare if you are travelling in or out of New Zealand with cash amounts of NZ$10,000 or more. That gives the 'Officials' time to get a posse together and turn you over in the airport toilets.....






Only kidding. About getting turned over by Officials I mean.....

Do you mean taking it with you or tranferring it out via your bank or other means?

If transferring, I don't think there's anything to worry about, unless its the proceeds of a business as you'll have to pay the upper tax rate. Apart from that, I dont think there is any penalty for transferring your own personal money wherever you like!
