Default Looking for moving boxes in Chch area

Hey all--

Sorry I haven't checked in lately ... been busy with planning our return, the boys' school vacation, etc. etc. etc.

If any recent arrivals in Chch have moving boxes and supplies that they would like to get rid of, please let me know. I'm in need of some large boxes, laydown wardrobes, and queen-size mattress boxes in particular--but I'll gladly take anything that's in good condition and suitable for moving overseas.

Thanks in advance!

On edit: I'm willing to pay, too, if you were hoping to sell them rather than just give them away. I'm willing to offer between $1 and $2 per box, but open to negotiations!

Default Yeah, headed home

We're flying out in 4 weeks. The job situation hasn't worked out and better opportunities for my wife and I have presented themselves back home, so it's time to move on.

Curses to the education system, their loss.

What a shame you're having to go back. Not even worth thinking about other areas in NZ? ChCh is only one city in a vast country!

Default Thanks all!

Well, as I'm sure you can all understand, the reasons for going home are as complicated as the reasons for coming to NZ. The job, obviously, is concern #1, especially with the cost of living rising, rising, rising here. There are also family issues--not to worry, nothing more serious than missing the grandparents and the rest of the fam', but it is wearing, isn't it?

It was always intended to be an experiment anyway--though I didn't think it would have been this short, but, oh well. No regrets. :)

Seen it before. Many people come and then leave for justifiable reasons. maybe you will be back and maybe not. The main thing is you gave it a go and hopefully learned from the experience.

Best of luck.

Cheers.
