Thought I'd start a new one so that Lou could tell us all about her adventure instead of going to the end of that other huge thread.

Righto, Louby Lou has been back long enough now. What did you think to NZ Lou? Have you heard anything about the job yet? Did you really like Hamilton? Was it what you expected or a bit like you expected or not at all like you expected? Jon, what exactly did she say about it when she got back or has she just melted into the duvet never to be seen again. Did she ignite your curiosity or dampen your enthusiasm?

I'm really interested because I'm wondering whether I've just got complacent here. We like it but I don't know if any of the initial 'not sures' we had have just been shifted to the back burner whilst we get on with every day. Hoping Lou's thoughts will make me think again and ask myself questions that I may have been putting off.

It must be pretty nerve-wracking for her waiting to hear if she's got the job or not. Maybe she has heard and it wasn't good news, so I guess we should be patient (who? me? patient? ) and just talk amongst ourselves until she shows up.

As I've said somewhere else, that company must have thought Lou has what they want for them to have gone to the expense of flying her down there. I'm sure, even though she was rusty on a few questions, they will have seen her great potential.

I wonder if she mentioned to them that she belongs to this forum. That'd swing it for her, for sure.

Quite worrying actually that Lou and Jon have been so quiet since she left - we didn't treat her THAT badly did we Dawn? Perhaps it was my sausage and mash that scared her off

hiya guys,

Yes, I'm back safe and sound in blighty, and as Taffy said, we are internet-less at home so had to wait to get back to work to post!

Just got a few boring work things to catch up with, and then I'll start work on a blog to fill you all in on my adventures ... suffice to say, I had a brill time (apart from "Interview Day"), and now can't wait to return.

Nice one Lou Posts like this are so helpful for those still waiting for things to get moving. I remember sitting and reading what other peoples first impressions were when we were back in the UK treading water. Having never been to NZ, all information was helpful and I was hungry for it.
