Don't think they would be too familiar with that term, so good job you didn't say it!

I got the impression the 2 weeks was for the interview, not to move permanently. Did I get it wrong?

Got into work, opened my emails and there, in my inbox is an invite to attend a face-to-face interview in NZ. Not just that, but an all expenses paid interview, meet-and-greet, check out the town, schools etc!!
I think thats the 2 weeks? You already have PR, don't you Lou??

Calm down everyone ...

2 weeks time is just for an interview and will be staying barely a week. We don't have PR yet ... although we are in the final stages as we have now secured ourselves a case officer.

and yes, would definately love to catch up with a cuppa and meet you all in the flesh :-)

Lou

So house sold, ties severed, and you're not just gonna stay and have a holiday until PR gets through? Crazy, crazy I tell you! Doing those flights in the space of a week will put you off coming back to NZ!!!

and now I've checked out the flight prices, looks as though I shall be travelling alone ... very daunting as I've never flown before!!

That's right, I've driven an army tank, been flown about in a helicopter but never been in a plane, let alone one for 24 hours! What am I doing?

Nothing like a bit of adventure eh?

I know that one, I did the same thing. I'd been on a plane before, but not since a wee lad and don't remember ever being on one, but upped and left on my own. Lucky you has all the stuff arranged for when you get here though!! I had a suitcase and my instincts

Didnt that make me sound like an action hero - just a case and my instincts. I'm not an action hero though, just a mere demi-god.

Anyway, we'll look after ya Lou, I'll even go to the pub to make it feel like Jon is right here with you

If the company is interested in Jon as well, can't they pay for his flight for interview, too?

If they are looking for several people to fill slots, ask them what they want and then post the jobs on here. If you successfully get forum members placed with the company, you can charge them a referral fee (the company, that is).

I am back! But only for a little while. Being overun by school kids at the mo which is vair vair noisey! I will prob. not be coming out with Lu as not sure what we would do with the kids while we out in NZ! I can't imagine how my folks would cope especially with Willow running around like a looney. Mum struggles enough on a wednesday morning and it usually takes me 2 days to tidy up the mess from it all.

I'm sure the wifelet will have a wonderful time and I'm sure Taffy, Welshgirl and Dawn will make Lu a wondeful cup of tea and calm her down while she is stressed out at the whole adventure!

Personally I can't wait to get out permanently, the bungalow holiday let we have is fine but it is just not home. Still, I found out the pub has wi-fi as well (just need to pay ?5 a month for unlimted access) which seems like a great place to have internet access
