Good luck with your medicals Nicky, I'm sure they'll be fine.

Seems like ages ago since ours, only bugbear was despite paying a fortune for the medicals, we weren't privy to the information in them .. only told "we're OK".

Right - back off to hunt for a rental ...

Seems like you made the right choice there for your situation.

We might catch up with you in Welli then when you land- as we will be there in March i'll let you know anything I can before you come. Our kids are similar ages so should be usefull.

You might want to consider paying for a seat for the little one anyway even if she's not 2. A 29hr flight will be bad enough withouht having to have her sat on your knee and if she falls asleep on you you won't be able to move. i think if they are under 2 and you are paying for a full seat you can use their car seat on the plane

Well, I'm off to look at a rental tomorrow - it's just up the road from our house, and although it's a little more than we were hoping for, will make life easy as close to work, pre-school and the like.

All being well, should only be for 3 or 4 months and then we'll be jetting off to New Zealand! Can't believe we are soo close and yet it still feels so far.

Lou

Good luck Lou!

I remember that feeling that both you and Beth are feeling. You know it's happening, but you can't quite believe it's happening, you're doing the every day thing like it's still just every day, going through the motions but those two intials keep popping into your head. It doesn't seem real. Your friends ask how you're doing, if you're organised etc and it all seems so practical and pragmatic and you talk very matter of factly about it and then just as you're dropping off to sleep at night it hits you that probably the biggest change of your life is on the horizon!!

For the first few months we were here we kept having to pinch ourselves. We'd be watching telly and then the ads would come on with people with kiwi accents and we'd go, 'Oh yeah, we're in New Zealand!'.

It's all good fun. peepsies.
