I don't know if I mentioned this in any other post... didn't post a lot while packing/moving because, you know, we were packing and moving. We used this service in the US where they drop off a pod at your house/apartment.

PODS - Reinventing Moving and Storage > HOME

They have 12 ft and 16 ft versions. You keep the pod as long as you like and pack it yourself and then call them when you're ready for them to come pick it up. I don't know if this or similar is started up in the UK but it sure made the whole moving process a lot more convenient. There is no pressure to get it all done in one day, you can take your time and rearrange, add items, as much as you like. Very positive experience.

This is for storing things mind you, not for shipping to NZ.

Default Housing Market

Hi
I know it is recommended to sell UK home before moving to NZ, but it appears from the threads we are all hitting the slow housing market at the moment
I really don't think it is all down to the morgage scare just the season
If you look at statics all the housing market picks up for spring and the busiest time for house moves is May bank holiday weekend.
Here is good vibes that we all sell soon, good luck

D

Thanks for all the replies and best wishes. The next few weeks are going to be very busy for us with organising everything, let alone cleaning all my canoes, golf clubs, tools etc. Not something I have been looking forward too really. We shall also try and start organising some kind of leaving party (well, knowing me, a full-on "drinking session") as we have so many people to see before we leave but not enough time to go on the road and see them all!

Jon
