Moving to NZ

We are still in South Africa and moving in this year to NZ and I do not know how to choose a primary school and pre school? Is there anyone that can give me advise?

Hi Talita and to MoveToNZ.

The best way to find out about particular schools is through personal recommendations. To that end it would be easier if you have a certain area of NZ you are thinking of settling in.

Generally though, you can look up schools on here . There's also some info on schools here . You should be able to look up reports on schools on the Education Review Office site but I don't know how up to date it is and, as such, reliable. Schools have a decile rating with decile 1 having the highest percentage of students from low socio-economic backgrounds and 10 having the lowest.

If you find a few schools that interest you, perhaps you can ask on here if anyone has had experience with them.
