Default House on the Market

Our house is on the market ? has been for TWO WEEKS without a single viewer!! I?m trying to keep my ?sensible hat? on & keep calm as it is still school holidays, but it ain't easy We had hoped to be in NZ in September, obviously that?s not gonna happen now. All I?m hoping for now is to be home for Christmas.

How?s everyone else going who?s on the market?

Sal

Fingerscrossed for you Sal but, as you said, it's the summer holidays and often the worst time for trying to sell a house as most people are either away on their hols, thinking about going away on their hols or just having returned from their hols (therefore financially strapped). It's usually once the kids have returned to school and reality sets in that people start looking around for something else to focus on. Pity you're on such a tight time frame.

Hey Keeweegal.

Don't worry too much. Two weeks isn't long.
We have been on the market (this time around) for about 6weeks now- had about 4 veiwings but nothing out of any of them.

Things might pick up now the weather is starting to get better- people or more inclined to look around. (or maybe that is wishful thinking).

We too were hoping on being in NZ for Christmas but that isn't looking very likely at the moment (unless a cash buyer comes along in the next couple of weeks).

Good luck anyway and hope you get some goods news soon enough.

Beth

Hiya Keeweegal ...

As of 12 noon today, our house is on the market too, although we've decided no viewings until after the schools hols to give us a chance to complete some last jobs etc.

I think I must be the only one that doesn't want our house to sell too quickly .. am hoping to have one last Xmas in the UK but we shall see what fate deals us.

Also got PSS coming next week to give us a removals estimate ...

All the best, and fingers crossed you get a viewer that falls in love with your house soon,

Lou

Thanks for your replies, guys

I know 2 weeks isn't long, but even a the beginning of this year, houses around here were selling in less than 2 weeks! So its a bit of a shock to the system.

I'm always one to look for the silver lining tho, & I think if we don't arrive until close to Christmas, at least we'll get some time off. OH is wanting to start working as soon as we land on NZ soil but desperately needs some R&R, so it could work out well (she tells herself positively!).

Sit tight gal, it'll all happen when it's supposed to. It took us 2 years to sell our cottage and put all of our plans way behind scedule as you can imagine. Who needs plans anyway, I'm sure Robbie Burns said something about the best laid plans of mice and men going awry, something like that. That's made you feel a lot better hasn't it?

Well, spoke to the agent today who said our schedule had been downloaded 105 times & the average is 57, so that sounds good! Starting to feel that it might not be so bad She reckons they're all sorting out kids for school & things will start to happen next week.

Maybe Christmas Down Under after all!
