The last time Daisy was in season Hugo was just coming into his own, hw was about 18 months old and heaving with doggy testosterone. What a palava!! I'm telling you I never want to live through another three weeks like that in my life. We tried to split them up but they both just howled the whole time and Hugo rammed the walls and door with his head. We left them together, they shut up howling but wouldn't stop trying to copulate. At night we had no choice but to split them up and Hugo howled and howled and howled until everyone was awake. In a fit of desperation Gary got some of his old boxer shorts and put them on Daisy, we all had a good laugh, let Hugo back into the same room and went back to bed. Peace and quiet and we all got some sleep.
The next morning the pants had been ripped off and were in tatters. After we'd picked ourselves up off the floor we embarked upon another cunning plan. More boxers and my old swimming costume over the top and hooked round her shoulders like a second skin. She looked like a grotesque all in wrestler but hey...needs to justify the ends and hey presto...No more crying and howling because we didn't need to split them up and he couldn't get through the two layers of spandex so no risk of unwanted pregnancy!!!

That's my humping dog story!!

We did, of course, take Daisy to be speyed as soon as was surgically possible. No more swimsuits or faded Calvin Kleins!! Thank God

We took the dogs to the vets last night for the first of the many tests they have to have done to be allowed in to NZ. It was Leptospira canicola, Brucella canis, Ehrlichia canis and 2 x Heartworm blood tests and 1st Hookworm test.
10 mins ?320 thank you very much And they have another 4 tests each to have done yet!

Sounds similiar to OH's medicals - that cost about the same too I think! But we wouldn't be without our furry friends, would we.
