Hi Welshgirl,

sounds like a good plan, especially since carolynne tells me shopping is good in Hamilton!! :icon_biggrin:

Do you live near the marae where the Maori Queen's tangi is going to be held? Must be an amazing atmosphere there right now.

Maggie xx

I don't think you have to worry; I'm sure they'd let you sip a cuppa tea with them.

Hi Maggie,

Yeah, shopping is good in Hamilton, it's true!

And yes, we live about 5 mins away from the Marae and our little town was full to bursting yesterday. Apparently, anyone is allowed to go and visit before the Queen's funeral on Monday, so I am thinking about it. Other than that, the road that the Marae is on is a no-go area as it is blocked off to through traffic and probably will be for a while yet.

So, this meeting in Hamilton then...... [smiley=icon_mrgreen.gif]

P.S. - MB, you would be more than welcome to drink tea with us, rather than coffee, but let's get you into the same country as us for a start off shall we?? [smiley=icon_lol.gif]

OMG!!! I can't nobody's addressed the doubt properly. Snopes my ass........ it's the most obvious observation ever!!! Of course the water goes round the other way it's all to do with the gravitational pull of the southern hemisphere vs Norhtern. You can see it as clear as...well water... everytime you pull the plug. Don't you people ever wash or clean your teeth???

1.Why do things look near on the map but when ya drive them they are totally ages away?
Could it be because the roads are narrower and less fast i.e. the distances aren't really longer, it's just that it takes more time to cover the distance because you can't go so fast? ?We also found it took forever to get to places that looked like you could get to them quite easily in half an hour.

Yes, but we just don't spend too much time peering into the plug hole.[smiley=Prankster.gif]

I think ours just goes straight down. [smiley=Stupid_grin.gif]
