Thank goodness for that. Seems like you've had quite a struggle to shift this house. Glad it's all worked out for you now. Get bizzy with the fizzy!

Didn't exchange contracts last week as someone further down the line hadn't had theor searches done and apparaently this is because they are using nationwide solicitors and they are renowned throughout solicitors for being extremely slow, so this is a warning to anybody else if they appear in your chain, chase, chase bloody chase.

feeling alittle fried now, but hopefully won't be much longer but we are gonna be cutting if fine cos we have to be there by the 16th August 2006 no matter what.

Ain't life a bitch! Hope it all resolves itself soon, Moose, and you can get on your way in peace.

Will you go anyway, even if you haven't exchanged by then?

Hi Moose,

That's pants about the contracts. We've had similar problems with our solicitors they're just sooo slow.

Just keep calling them and chasing as you say. We now have a wee list of complaints for them after everything is done and dusted. They never return our calls so when Stu called for a 3rd time in a day they called him 'Oh it's the impatient man!' I dont think they actually understand how important it is when you're moving abroad to get the house side of things sorted ASAP.

It will work out for you, I know you'll have heard it all before but it will. A guy in work got everything signed finally on the day he moved! But he still moved.

Keep your chin up and I have everything crossed for you...

Yes MB, we have booked our flights for the 9th Aug with a 3 night stopover in singapore so we should arrive in auckland on the 14th Aug.

Getting a bit hairy scary now, what with our estate agent acting on what our buyer wants and not checking things out before calling me. So Yes you guessed it I have given them a good ticking off and told them not to act on his word but to call the bloody solicitors and check it out, cos now I have brought my packers forward and they are on shut down now until the 15th July and I'm just hoping that the completion date of the 21st can still be met, if not then I will not be held responsible for my action.

A very P#*@$% off Anna [smiley=014.gif] [smiley=021.gif]

Hang in there, Moose! Nobody can really understand how crazy and stressful moving overseas is....except the ones of us doing that now! I am sending positive vibes your way!

As the day (we can't even book our tickets because of so many unknowns!) approaches for us to leave...it seems like we are faced with anything BUT smooth sailing. At least, I know that my husband has a job there waiting for him, unlike some of you brave souls who ventured there without one. Our house is not selling...we are looking into renting it out till next year's 'peak season'. The FBI is dragging their feet with our fingerprint checks..without which, we cannot send off for our permanent residency applications...hence the tickets have not been booked. We have been trying to map out all kinds of alternate plans as to when, how etc. we will get ourselves (and the cat) there in one piece. So, in some ways, I am envious that you are so close to being there already! Enjoy Singapore and its warm weather....
