I thought once an offer was all tied up in Scotland, you were legally obliged to carry through with it? Or is that only some parts? Or, indeed, am I waffling through my rear??

Total arse anyway mate. Yet another part of the UK that's not missed - Gazumping.

That is so frustrating; like others here, I feel so angry at them. [smiley=icon_frown.gif]

Hang on in there. House prices here are expected to go down, so perhaps sticking with that rental a bit longer is a sensible move. We are still in a rental waiting UK house sale.

Hubster (from Aberdeen) can't understand how they could pull out, as he says in Scotland, once a firm offer has been made, you're stuck with it.

Just hope that, as it sold quickly last time, it'll be the same this time. Such a bummer though when you've been hit like that, as you're never sure whether it's going to happen again, like in Stevey's case. The laws really need tightening up, as so many people are suffering like this.

Dude, don't panic. You've both got a job, surely you can afford to keep things going in NZ. Sounds crazy tho, with the scottish law etc.

House prices have gone up here since you've been gone so if you sell at same price surely it will go quickly enough. What mortgage were you on before? Switch to interest only to cut monthly outs.

Just thoughts, let us know what's occurring mate. Best wishes with the stress.

Hope it all clears up soon, Natty. Question: In the UK, do they not require a non-refundable deposit with an accepted offer on a house? In the US, this helps reduce the sort of poorly-thought-out offers you and Stevey have experienced. Real estate customs are so varied. I suppose we'll learn all about NZ customs soon enough (I hope).

How's the new job going, Natty? Or should I say, how's things in general going? Hope you're doing OK.
