[quote:b4c9a0daf3="SteveyC"]Oi that could be our kid tokenly screaming, us parents do our best you know grrr.

I've never suffered from Jet Lag as my cure is 'mash up my sleep pattern as much as possible prior to going' which I do on most weekends anyway. My Bodies used to adjusting therefore.[/quote:b4c9a0daf3]
Yes Stevey, I know most parents do their best with their little ones and I often feel sorry for them, as you can see they feel embarrassed about it. It?s sad for the kiddies as well as they are no doubt protesting loudly at something that?s grieving them e.g. painful pressure in their ears etc., I was just making the point that there seems to be at least one on every flight we?ve been on and there?s no way you can sleep through that.

I was just wondering whether our disturbed sleeping pattern here will work in our favour with jetlag. Especially now that the noisy a/cs and fans are off for the winter, we can hear all sorts of disruptive noises throughout the night ? boy racers screaming around the quieter streets (come to think of it, they scream around them in the daytime as well), wadi cats fighting and the females wailing endlessly for a suitor, noisy neighbours parping their car horns and shouting to each other, the house banging and cracking as it cools down in the night air, great rumbling military planes going overhead en route to the airport 10 mins. away and, of course, the ubiquitous mosque of which we have at least 4 around us. All in all, I think our sleep pattern must be so to hell that being a mere 9 hours out of sinc in NZ shouldn?t really bother us. Right! Sorted! No jetlag.

I try to sleep as much as I can on board, though that isn't always very much. Fortunately I'm usually fine with a short nap soon after arrival. On board, I recommend:
[b:6223d3e683]Ear plugs[/b:6223d3e683], which are handy even when you aren't trying to sleep because of the plane noise.
[b:6223d3e683]Eye covers[/b:6223d3e683] (can't think of the proper name) can be handy for blocking out light, especially if your plane has the big group movie screen shining for the entire flight.
And I agree with the above advice to drink plenty of water and stretch.
