I remeber somebody (two people I think) quoting a particular company for this type of insurance.
I've not had much luck finding it, anyone remember anything about it...

been emailing these and they appear cheap and on the ball and get back quick to me on questions.

3/ For Marine insurance- Door to Door
@ 3.5% Values declared should be replacement values in NZ
For Marine Insurance Purposes We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
firm no 314015 . We use Norwich Union for Marine Insurance -If you want us to arrange Insurance we will
give you full details and the key features.

4/ Admin Fee @ GBP 25.00

5/ Packing Materials at cost- Suggest you allow about ? 150 for 3 bed removal

a/ I assume that like your Parents you will self pack to keep the costs down and our price is based on this

b/ 20 ft container - This can load about 25-26 m3 / About 900 CUFT/
( internal dims: L 5.90 W 2.35 H 2.39 cms)

c/ You will need to produce an inventory, all cartons and packs should be named and numbered
sequentially

d/ There are some restricted articles that should not be shipped to NZ.

Also they can ship just pallet incase you want to just want to take small items

From : Collected Essex Area
To : Arrival Main Port NZ

1 pallet / not exceeding 2.20 m3 = GBP 585.00
2 pallets/ not exceeding 4.40 m3 = GBP 1080.00

I have been speaking to a company called Bargate who appear keen and cheaper if anyone is interested.

This quote was just for 4.5 m3 of goods.
From collected Guildford to arrival quay Lyttleton Port TOTAL PRICE ? 376.00
Based on 4.5 m3 of personal / household effects packed in a seaworthy condition. (Please note that tanks must not be pressurised)

You will also be responsible for the loading of the vehicle in UK and the collection, clearance and handling charges in New Zealand
