Default reasonable flights

I would echo what taffy says, prices vary hugely. I tend to get the immpression that the Jap imports are in a better condition than the equivalent from the UK. Price wise , we expect to get ?4k for our 1997 Honda CRV privately ($10,000), and have seen alot of CRVs sitting in the $12K-$13K bracket on dealer forecourts on autobase & trademe- which is a pretty similar price to what you would pay througha dealer here. It's our plan to get something that will blend in with the locals and be somewhat inconspicuous, the natives in Nelson don't have much time for pommes wizzing about in flash cars & are generally less than impressed - our motto is that "if you want to be a kiwi, live like a kiwi". Hopefully this will get us accepted into the community more easily.

One thing that has taken a bit of getting the hang of is the different model names that the Jap car makers use in their own country (& hence in NZ as imports).

Like the Nissan Cedric ( a big old Merc look-a--like),

Nissan Homy (as driven by New York rappers),

Toyota Sprinter (looking at it, it should be a Toyota Ambler perhaps),

Mitsubishi Charisma ( now theres a contradiction in terms, or a designer with a warped sense of humour),

Honda Vigor (slight spelling problem, but hardly an apt name),

Honda Crossroads (no sign of Benny in this re-badged discovery),

Honda Horizon (a more discreet re-badging (perhaps ladies version) of the good old ISUZU BIGHORN - just for you natty!)

Its all abit of a minefield - if you like a car - check its name - you wouldnt want to be driving away in a Toyota Nadia (not after watching big brother anyway!)

Cheers

Nick

Stevie

Just tried your www.cheapestflights.com, and it looks like a links page to www.cheapflights.com & cheapflights.co.uk?

Confusing, since you said it wasnt to be confused with www.cheapflights.com.

Ooopps tremendous gaff by me Nick sorry.

www.cheapestflights.co.uk

Have ammended original post. Try this, pretty sure it's different as I have often found cheaper flights on this when compared to the other.

Good shout on Expedia tho, seems a lot of people find this cheap but have a blast on this one anyway. All info is good info, would be handy to find the conclusive best site for such things.

Jeez just been searching again.

Shows how fast these things change. 3 New Sites for you.

www.teletextholidays.co.uk - Don't Laugh for our family they were ?400 cheaper than Expedia and my highly rated tip above.
www.odopo.co.uk - Again Cheaper, round about the same as teletext tho.
But.......

www.ebookers.com - Amazing ?600 cheaper then Exedia. At first Expedia looks great til you see how much is added in taxes and booking fees ?350 in our case.

The sites listed above have fares including all taxes and fees.

Ebookers tho, had 7 or 8 flights cheaper than the flights coming out cheapest on expedia. Also not silly amount of stops or anything.

Just a heads up anyway. Website is good too, anyone used them before?

Unfortunately, I've read several reports of bad service from this company. Proceed with caution if you're thinking of booking with them.
