Question katikati bay of plenty north island?
hey boyfriend just been offered a job here, so looks like thats where we will initially live, anyone know the area??

Driven through it a few times, looks like a nice town although not much around it for a few k's! I've met several people who live there though, and they all seem to love it, so here's hoping you feel the same!

We have friends who live in Katikati and love it there, just a 15/20 minutes drive from Tauranga so not to far from civilisation They are looking to move shortly though but purely because one of them has got a new job near Hamilton so it makes sense for them to move nearer there as they wanted to move to somewhere with more land anyhow as they have an Alpaca farm

Katikati is a nice little town right on the sea or nice and rural too , depending how you want life it could be little quiet but you are only 30 minutes from Tauranga so its not bad to commute from there . Hope this helps and i hope you enjoy the life

We lived in Tauranga, so not far from Katikati, used to drive through it quite a lot as its on one of the main routes from Auckland down through the Bay of Plenty - seems like a nice enough town, its famed for all the murals on the shops and buildings on the main street. Its quite small, but seems to have all the amenities you might need - but as other posters have said, you are within 30 mins or so of Tauranga if you need to hit the metropolis (if you can call Tauranga that!! lol)

We have got some friends who live just outside the town who actually work in Tauranga, but prefer to live in the quieter rural area that Katikati offers them. (note to Alison, they emigrated from Bournemouth too!)
