A garden isn't as important hear as there is so much more to do outdoors. The thing with Porirua is there are schools there that you wouldn't choose to put your kids in. With our move from Kapiti to Wellie we have been careful about which school my daughter will go to. Johnsonville West is looking like her first school. Porirua/ Tawa also do not have particularly good secondary/College schools.
If you PM me I will give you my details so you can ring me when you get here and do muffins/coffee.

Hi Emma,

One of my work colleague's is looking at properties in the Raumati/Paraparm/Waikanae area as he is fed up with Eastbourne. He too is becoming concerned with schooling and with all the recent media coverage around Hutt Valley High this may have tipped the balance.

In fact he will be viewing several in the area this Sunday.

Decile ratings have been improving over that past couple of years with Porirua's biggest, Aotea College, improving by 3 points mainly due to net migration (and the new Aotea sub-division).

This trend may continue? Either way our children will not be going there as there are plenty of alternatives.

Raumati to J'ville an interesting move! Some of our friends are considering the Kapiti Coast when/if their nests are empty. Us too.

I wonder if he will end up at ours? We are moving because OH works in central Wellie and Johnsonville has nice properties for reasonable prices. The commute is taking a good 2 hours out of his day which is a lot of time when you are watching a 4 1/2 year old grow so quickly and know that in a few years time she will be not that interested in us.

Any feed back from your open home? My colleague decided that it was too much of a nice day yesterday to look at houses, he went native many years ago.

We spent nearly a year in J'ville and found it very nice although it did seem colder than where we are now.

Our kids would love to be even closer to the sea but totally agree with the work/life balance as this, for us, was a big factor in moving here (NZ).

Haven't had feed back yet.
Aotea is a very swish area, are you in a new build?
Might see you at elements, look for the short woman with the tall bloke shouting , 'Evie'.
